POST:  Project Specialist: Infrastructure Project Management

Minimum Requirements:

  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Project Management, Built Environment, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management.
  • Registration or eligibility for professional registration with: ECSA / SACPCMP (PrCPM / PrEng / PrTechEng).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in: Infrastructure project implementation Construction site coordination public sector or higher education infrastructure environment.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop project briefs, scope definitions, and feasibility inputs.
  • Assist in business case development and cost estimation.
  • Coordinate design consultants and ensure alignment with user requirements.
  • Contribute to sustainability integration within project designs.
  • Monitor on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress assessments.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project deliverables against scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Implement risk response plans in line with project frameworks.
  • Monitor adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct quality control reviews and documentation checks.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports for Senior Project Manager.
  • Track and report on project performance indicators.
  • Assist with budget tracking and expenditure monitoring.
  • Review contractor claims and payment certificates (with QS support).
  • Support cost variation assessments.
  • Monitor project cash flow projections.
  • Provide technical input to project decisions.
  • Act as a reference point on project documentation and compliance matters.
