The Durban University of Technology is a result of the merger in April 2002 of two prestigious technikons, ML Sultan and Technikon Natal. It was named the Durban Institute of Technology and later became the Durban University of Technology in line with the rest of the universities of technology.

FINANCE
POST: FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER (POST REFERENCE NUMBER: 20001504)
Minimum Requirements:
- A 4-year qualification in Finance or Commerce (NQF level 8) or Honours Degree in Finance or Commerce.
- 5 years’ Experience in Management Accountant, Finance Management or Finance Analyst.
- Experience in the Higher Education sector and/or research sector is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in public accounting practice, preferably taxation is desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret raw data and translate it into clear, concise information.
- The ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance individuals.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Customer focus
- Advanced proficiency in MS office
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial risk management advice to finance clients.
- Provide support and financial advice for the development of innovative business models.
- Identify opportunities to add value in the development and execution of the Institution’s Strategic Plan.
- Providing financial analysis and insight/analytics, linking financial reports to business strategies
- Provide support and financial modelling for the development of business cases.
- Assist clients with initiating Finance related processes, requests, submissions, business cases and plans
