Lecturer, Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Minimum Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree and undergraduate qualification in Information Technology or Computer Science. However, a candidate with a PhD would be given preference. 
  • At least 3 years’ of university teaching experience.

Additional Recommendations:

  • Proficiency in a broad range of computer applications.
  • Experience utilizing innovative teaching and learning technologies, including online instruction.
  • Demonstrated evidence of a growing research track record.
  • Demonstrated record of academic publications in accredited journals or conference proceedings.
  • Possesses excellent communication and lecturing skills.
  • Proficiency in using online learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, MS Teams, Blackboard).
  • Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional body (preferred).

Summary of Duties:

  • Teach and examine ICT-related modules at undergraduate level across any of the following areas: Programming, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Networks, Cybersecurity, Human-Computer Interaction, Ethics, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Business Informatics and Research Methodology.
  • Supervise postgraduate students and undergraduate student projects.
  • Produce publications and maintain active research involvement.
  • Contribute to research development initiatives.
  • Participate in curriculum design and development in ICT programmes.
  • Engage in community and external outreach activities, including active involvement in professional and subject-related associations.
  • Develop and author study materials.
  • Perform administrative and other academic duties as delegated.

  • Foundational knowledge of ICT theory and its practical applications.
